Hi I’m Leah
Head photographer and Owner of Brave Boss Babe Boudoir
I’ve been a full time photographer for almost a decade (wowsa!) and a full time boudoir photographer in Kansas City for six of those years. I live in KCMO with my amazing husband, Matthew, and have worked in places like Los Angeles, Wales, and Hawaii! Because I’ve worked all over in many different environments and conditions (and with every personality you can imagine) you can relax in the knowledge that I know how to make you look and feel incredible.
As a Certified Professional Boudoir Photographer and long time member in good standing with The Association of International Boudoir Photographers, my continued education and devotion to the field of boudoir photography is intense and ongoing. My consistent commitment to excellence has led to my work being featured in publications like Bare Bones Boudoir Magazine, Lovely Magazine, The Perfect Palette, and Flickr’s main blog. For multiple years, people of Kansas City have voted my studio the best photography business in KC through The Pitch’s annual Best-Of competition.
Crafting a personalized experience designed to put you at ease and connect you with your sensual side is something I’ve dedicated thousands of hours to learn. I’ve had nearly a thousand faces in front of my camera, have snapped hundreds of thousands of images, and thoroughly dedicated myself to being a trustworthy, safe, and unstoppable creative force.

Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren't quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your spouse and aren't for anyone else's eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences. If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with!

You definitely don't have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are a BUNCH of outfit ideas other than lacy little things!. I have plenty of resources I can provide you when it comes to shopping your closet, going on an amazon shopping spree, or looking into other outfit options in my Before You Boudoir digital magazine.

Hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir shoots! I think it's really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our amazing team can help you complete your look, whether that's "I just woke up like this" or Full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can try to use it for inspiration!

I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I also correct for any impermanent lumps, bumps, and bruises (if you break out - don’t worry! That will disappear.) Typically I would never edit out anything permanent like scars, stretchmarks, birthmarks, etc. If you would like them softened that can happen in the final product, but when you first see your images in the viewing and ordering space they will be 100% unretouched. This is because I believe that every part of you is worthy of being photographed and seen just as it is, but I also know that it is fun to live in the idea of having a magazine quality photoshoot for yourself!
I NEVER want to edit out anything that makes you who you are. The art of boudoir is so much more than just pretty pictures. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don't like. If those are parts of yourself that are learning to love and aren't thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and bring out your sparkle.
Plus we are used to posing women of all shapes and sizes from 00 to 24+, we are ready to make you look as fabulous as we know you are! -
My private and exclusive boudoir studio is located close to Kauffman and Chiefs stadiums. It is a cozy and intimate space designed to make you feel right at home! We are basically 20 minutes from everywhere in the Kansas City metro and parking is super simple!!
